Question Removing and replacing side marker lights

I just purchased some smoked side markers on ebay... does anyone know how to replace those? Or direct me in the direction of a thread that will instruct me how to do it properly without damaging my car lol...

Thank you.

Not sure if the touring is the same as the 300C but I just changed mine yesterday. The drivers s ide is alot more of a PIA than the passenger but all you do is:

For the drivers side; crank the wheel all the way to the left. You see 3 plastic push pins in the fender well on the front near along the bottom, remove those. You will also need to remove the first three 7mm screws along the bottom of the fascia. Once those are off, just pull down on the front of the black belly pan. Reach up in behind the fender and there will be a 1/2 inch nut, deep well socket needed, on the front side of the marker light, remove that and the light will pop out the side. Disconnect the light and place in new light. Reverse order of events.

For the passenger side: Exactly the same as the drivers side except there is no air silencer system in place to have to get in the way and you crank the wheel all the way to the right.

Hope this helps.

IMO, it's easier to just jack the car up and remove the belly pan. You will then be able to just reach up and access the bulb harness and nut the holds the sidemarker lens in.

both methods that were mentioned are the best way to do it without removing the whole fascia and yes the 300 along with the 300c and srt sidemarkers are all the same...good luck!

That's how I ended up doing it.

I did mine when I upgraded the grille and fogs so I had the fascia pulled off. That made it very easy to do.

Good Luck!

Either way, its a PIA but you will appreciate the enhancement. I did as others stated by turning the wheel in one direction and remove the push pins and screws and pulling down on the belly pan and reaching in. It wasn't fun and i dreaded the day the bulb went and had to be replaced. You have been given the best advice.

Good luck

Default Replacing side marker lights on 300C

I read the forum thread and the advice was great. I tackled the job and learned quickly that removing the front belly pan with the car jacked up ws the easiest way to get to the side marker lights. As noted, the driver side is harder but I was able to reach both lights from below, remove the harness plug, turn the light socket out of the base and change the lights WITHOUT REMOVING THE LENS FROM THE BODY! Getting to the 1/2" nut on the back of the lens fixture is really a PIA. I'm not sue why the owners manual says to use a W5W bulb but a standard 194 ws in the socket and works.
Thanks for the forum's advice and I hope this helps others.
